More info

ROYAL CANIN® Feline Diabetic is a complete dietetic feed for cats formulated for regulation of glucose supply (Diabetes mellitus). This feed contains a low level of rapid glucose - releasing carbohydrates.

This exclusive formula is developed with reduced levels of starch, from sources with a low glycemic index. Food with a low glycemic index cause a slower rise in blood sugar than foods with a high glycemic index. This ultimately supports your cat by helping to manage postprandial blood glucose (the sugar in your cat’s blood after eating) in diabetic felines.

Thanks to ROYAL CANIN® Feline Diabetic’s high level of protein, this diet helps to maintain your cat’s muscle mass, which is essential for diabetic cats. Helping your cat to manage a healthy body weight supports a better response to diabetic treatment, as overweight cats tend to be less sensitive to insulin’s effects.

Essential Benefits:

  • Glucomodulation: Specific formula utilising cereals with a low glycaemic index and selected fibres to help in the management of post-prandial blood glucose in diabetic cats.

  • High Protein: Helps reduce net energy supply and maintenance of muscle mass essential in diabetic cats.

  • Low starch: Formula that contains a reduced level of starch to help limit postprandial blood glucose.

Recommended for cases of:

  • Diabetes Mellitus and a Body Condition Score (BCS) ≤ 6/9

  • Diabetes Mellitus and a BCS ≥ 7/9, until glycemic control has been achieved*

Not recommended in cases of growth, gestation/lactation.

*Royal Canin Diabetic Diet is recommended as first line nutritional management for all newly diagnosed cases of Diabetes Mellitus until control of clinical signs an hyperglycemia have been achieved.
